The highly praised Wynn Classic is among the major poker tournament series that have been going down at numerous venues throughout the Las Vegas. This particular event wrapped up last Monday and it was every bit as action-packed as expected. It all ended with the $1,600 Main Event which carried a $1 million guarantee and involved a decent number of high-profile poker players including Joseph Cheong and Terry Fleischer.
The Main Event
The $1,600 Main Event met its $1 million guarantee quite easily thanks to the 982 entries that contributed to the prize pool of a whopping $1,428,810. Out of the 982 entries, 107 spots were paid and they included Jamie Kerstetter, Jon Turner, Anthony Zinno, Ben Yu, and Andrew Lichtenberger. The final table was hotly contested by a some of the best poker grinders in the industry including Eddie Blumenthal, Ryan Laplante, and Ralph Wong.
Ultimately, the top three players turned out to be Terry Fleischer,Eddie Blumenthal, and Mark Ioli – the threecame to an agreement that saw Fleischercrowned as the champion with $184,376 in winnings while Blumenthal and Ioli walkedaway with $160,000 apiece.

Naturally, high roller games are not everyone’s cup of tea and therefore this one attracted a rather small but tougher field. Nonetheless, the action-packed which attracted a total of 113 entries, as well as a prize pool of $332,220 which was much higher than the expected $200,000 guarantee, was just as exciting as anticipated.

The $360 No-Limit Hold’em, for instance, had a $150,000 guarantee and multiple flights on Day 1 – this was taken down by Adam Owen for $40,989 after outlasting a field of 601 entries. The $600 No-Limit Hold’em, on the other hand, had a $200,000 guarantee as well multiple starting days. The winner for this particular event was Matt Affleck who walked away with $42,476 and he was followed shortly by Spencer Champlin with $39,518 in winnings.
